Dear Journal...

Over the last semester, I've come to realize that communication is pretty much a constant during our life.  If we aren't directly talking with someone, we are communicating with ourselves, with media, or with God.  In a sense, communication is almost like breathing, a part of life so persistent that we might even forget that it is happening.

Communication is, in essence, a connection.  It allows us to connect words to meaning, ideas to action, and hearts to hearts. Charles Dickens said in his book A Tale of Two Cities (my personal favorite of his), "A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other." This idea I think is what allows us to communicate with family and friends for years on end, and yet  never run out of things to say.  Communication in its ability to define us, never allows us to fully disclose and even discover our entire person.  We are even a secret mystery unto our selves.

Here you'll find some responses to what we've discussed throughout the semester. It will be some things I've learned, some feelings, an occasional picture or quote, some connections to outside content, and just like any journal some real talk.  Click on any of the tabs above, to begin.
