Communication is the basis for all of our relationships. Ultimately a relationship cannot exist between two (or more) people if communication does not take place. It is the foundation and the building blocks to form a relationship.
It can seem simple to say that in order to have a relationship you must talk. However, whenever we communication we put ourselves in a vulnerable place and in which we feel that we have lost control.
One of my most favorite Ted Talks was given by Brene Brown. She illustrates how the only way in which we can achieve joy and happiness in our relationships is by being vulnerable. We have to have a confidence in ourselves to know that we are worth being loved.
One of the best and only ways to really gain this confidence is through understanding our relationship without Savior. His atonement and example are truly proof of his love, which can give us the confidence and belief that as children of God we deserve love. This then allows us to show love the way our Savior does and did. The song I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus is one that I feel allows us to keep this feeling with us all the time.
Ultimately our goal is to have relationships with all of those around us like the one we have with our Savior, He is our example in all things.
